Research from the last Assembly election showed that it was women and young people who did not turn out to vote in east Belfast.
I think it is vital that I do all I can to encourage those not using their vote to turn out to vote and have a say in the running of the country. Only when everyone is using their vote will our politics evolve and improve with better and more diverse representation.
I am supporting a campaign to help register more female voters before the deadline this Thursday. The ‘Votes for Women’ project will also be running events in the coming weeks that will motivate women to actively use their vote on May 5th.
